Accounting clerk/receptionist

Summary :
Under the authority of the accounts receivable accountant, the accounting clerk/receptionist receives and routes telephone calls and generally supervises the company’s telephone system. He receives and directs visitors and provides clerical support to the entire administrative team.
Requirements:
Hold a vocational diploma in secretarial studies, accounting or any other type of inherent training or equivalent professional experience;
Two years of experience in a similar position is required;
Having appropriate computer knowledge (Excel – Word – Access – Powerpoint) is a decisive asset;
Knowledge of accounting software, Maestro Technology, an asset;
Appropriate knowledge of spoken, written and read English and French is required;
An appropriate knowledge of the Cree language is a determining asset;
Autonomy and discretion;
Must hold or be willing to follow and give the necessary training;
Responsibilities:
Receives and routes telephone calls;
Updates the telephone system;
Opens external and internal mail, stamps, sorts and distributes it;
Prepare mail (Sylco, Dicom, Purolator, regular);
Maintains the stamping machine;
Prepare and record deposits;
Make some quick payments (cheques);
Enter journal entries to the computer system;
Enters dates checks are mailed and files copies of checks;
Maintains on computer, cost tables for Cellular, Bell;
Performs impromptu tasks required by the administrative sector;
Proposes recommendations to improve the work;
Provides all necessary efforts to respect the schedules, requirements, budgets, priorities, deadlines established by the company;
Performs any other task inherent and/or required by supervision.
